<span style="font-family:Garamond, serif">A: There is no concrete answer here beyond, success in any endeavor requires commitment and discipline. Mock trial practices are held after classes and on weekends to avoid interference with class schedules.
</span><span style="font-family: Garamond, serif; color: rgb(200, 38, 19);"><b>Trial Advocacy team student advocates are student-athletes.</b></span><span style="font-family:Garamond, serif"> Thus, academics come first. However, anything worth joining, particularly
a Trial Advocacy team that is ranked 16<sup>th</sup><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>in the Nation, is worth working diligently to perform your best. Most trial advocacy team students develop supreme time management skills that prepare them for
a career that requires the same.<o:p> </o:p></span></li></ul>

<span style="font-family:Garamond, serif">A: In interpreting this question, I’ll assume this question attempts to determine if the trial advocacy team is made up of diverse individuals. Yes, students from all walks of life and many different backgrounds are
eligible to join the trial advocacy team and we pride ourselves on bringing students who make up different backgrounds together to make a cohesive team, one that naturally would provide a "diverse experience." Our program is one that is meritorious.
</span><span style="font-family: Garamond, serif; color: rgb(200, 38, 19);"><b>Thus, no matter what, if a person has the best tryout, they will be given an opportunity to prove that they are worthy and capable of joining a select few as a member of the Campbell
Law Trial Advocacy Team.</b></span><span style="font-family:Garamond, serif"> Of personal note, Campbell Law happens to have produced the first African American to have won a Top Gun championship. I won that honor with Dean Tilly as my coach several years
ago. While it is not necessarily ideal that it took a decade for the first African American individual to win such a prestigious honor, it is ideal that our law school was the first to do so. It speaks volumes about our program and how committed we are to
giving students the best access to opportunities aside from anything else.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><o:p> </o:p></span></li></ul>

<span style="font-family:Garamond, serif">A: Our trial advocacy team’s first goal is to teach students who want to become trial lawyers how to represent clients at the highest level. Collateral rewards in striving toward that goal are often winning national
championships and engaging in networking opportunities. As a member of our Campbell Law Trial Advocacy team, I received employment offers across the nation, and so did several of my classmates. As Director of the Competitive Advocacy program, I assist all
our students with having access to employment opportunities, specifically our Campbell Law Trial Advocacy Team alumni network.
</span><span style="font-family: Garamond, serif; color: rgb(200, 38, 19);"><b>Statistically, over 90% of trial advocacy student advocates pass the Uniform Bar Examination on their first attempt and over 70% of our students have employment offers before graduating
from Campbell Law.</b></span><span style="font-family:Garamond, serif"> These statistics and opportunities increase exponentially when you add the filming of a docu-series that is set to be published nationally. Hence, our intention in bringing the docu-series

<span style="font-family:Garamond,Georgia,serif">Campbell Law School will be competing in a host of mock trial competitions throughout the country this year. Last year, our teams competed in Colorado, Georgia, Texas, and Puerto Rico. This year, our mock trial
team is slated to return to a completely in-person competitive season set to compete in Colorado, Florida, California, New York, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Texas, Washington D.C., and many other destinations. In our 2021-22 competitive advocacy season, our
teams won<i> two national championships</i>, one national semifinalist placement, two regional championship finalist placements, and one regional semifinalist placement. Along the way, our advocates also won individual awards for their stellar courtroom advocacy.
While we have enjoyed past success, we are anxious to identify the next group of outstanding trial advocates to continue our winning tradition.</span><br>

<i>must</i> tryout irrespective of prior advocacy experience. Former participants are not guaranteed a position on the team nor an assignment to any particular competition. </span>

you from participating in tryouts.</i> <b>Other than being in your 2L or 3L year, there are no prerequisites for participating on the Campbell Law Trial Advocacy Team.
</b> In fact, most of the participants chosen in the past have had no experience whatsoever. We evaluate candidates based on several factors in determining who may be the most capable, dedicated advocates - so just focus on presenting your best five-minute
closing argument. </span><br>
