[Law24] Last Minute Fall Externship Opportunity!

Good afternoon 2Ls and 3Ls,

If you are interested in in-house corporate practice and are still open to a fall externship position, Advance Auto Parts is accepting applications for a Fall 2023 extern.  The position is unpaid and hybrid, with the in-office days taking place at their headquarters in North Hills. You can find a description of the position below. Summary
You will partner directly with the attorneys in the Legal Department to assist with a variety of matters, including employment, commercial real estate, commercial litigation, commercial contracts, and others. This position requires an enrollment in an accredited law school program.

Responsibilities:
Support senior attorneys in research related to their various specialties;
Support senior labor attorneys in review of legal documents such as real estate documents, commercial contracts, and non-disclosure agreements;
Observe and participate in negotiations with third parties, dispute resolution proceedings, and litigation proceedings;
Observe and participate in internal conversations with business teams;
Conduct legal research in varying jurisdictions as needed to ensure legal compliance in the Company's contractual agreements and corporate initiatives

Requirements:
Enrolled in as a full-time student in an accredited law school program;
Exceptional attention to detail, and strong organizational and problem-solving skills;
High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work in a proactive and service-oriented manner;
Excellent written and oral communication skills;
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information;
Demonstrated ability to work on a variety of projects at the same time, to prioritize and to meet deadlines;
Self-starter with strong work ethic

Education and Experience:

Enrollment in an accredited law school required
