Dear 1Ls,

By now, you should have received an email directly from Symplicity, subject line: Action Required: Important from Career Center - Symplicity Login Information. Check your Spam/Junk folder if you don't see it.

Reminder - the link is time sensitive so you have 24 hours to use the link to set up your account. Once time expires, you'll just have to click on "forgot password" and go about it that way. Symplicity is where you'll research and apply for jobs, participate in OCI and request an appointment with the career center.

For 1Ls, your initial appointment request, which can be with me or Director Niya Fonville, should come AFTER you have completed the Resume Session of the Career Readiness Series. Updating and creating a legal resume is step one.

If you are a FLEX student, you received the same Symplicity email as well. Your timeline; however, is different for job applications. But you may still start the Series, complete the resume session and request an appointment with us.

More details about the Career Readiness Series is attached and below.

Thanks,
Grace

Subject: The Campbell Law Career Readiness Series

Dear Students -

On behalf of the Career Center, I am delighted to share great news!

The Campbell Law Career Readiness Series is an online self-guided course (non-academic), offered through the Thinkific platform. It is designed for law students to work through various aspects of career and professional development at their own pace.
With over 20 years of career and professional development advice included, the Career Readiness Series will take the place of much of our in-person workshops. We will still have in-person programming geared towards networking and more nuanced career matters, but the nuts and bolts of what you need to manage your own career is here! This course is intended to take a year to complete. For upperclassmen, you may be able to complete earlier because many of you have already participated in an externship, internship or pro bono project. But it is important to not breeze through the material. Read all of it and listen to all of the videos. You are not going to be doing yourself any favors by completing the sessions quickly while skipping through lots of the information. Take your time! This is the most exciting part of this series -that it is self-paced!

At the completion of the course, you'll receive a Campbell Law Career Ready digital badge that you can put on your LinkedIn profile. The badge will highlight the career readiness skills you sharpened through the career readiness course.

Attached is the course information, including the checklist you'll need to fill out and turn in, in order to receive the Career Ready digital badge. Since this is new, if you experience any glitches or have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Embedded in the series are quizzes and small assignments that you will complete as you progress through the online course!

To get started, read the attached!

Then access the course by clicking on this link: https://careercenter.thinkific.com/courses/career-center

REMINDER: This is a marathon, not a sprint. There are no extra points for finishing early. The content is more important than completion of the course. It is imperative that you take the time to read every word, listen to every video and complete each assignment. Each step is important. If you skip a step, you will definitely miss something so take your time. There is no deadline.
